Radiofrequency is an aesthetic treatment that uses a heat source to stimulate the production of new collagen fibres in the skin, improving the firmness and quality of the skin, correcting wrinkles and expression lines and increasing the hydration and firmness of the skin.
In addition, to combat sagging skin, this treatment should be carried out by a beautician, dermatologist or physiotherapist specialising in radiofrequency, as it improves blood circulation and keeps the skin firm, rejuvenated and oxygenated for a prolonged period.
Facial radiofrequency can be applied to areas such as the eye contour and mouth, forehead, cheekbones, chin and jowls or double chin.
Radiofrequency is indicated for all skin types in healthy adults with healthy skin, free of wounds or infections, who want to eliminate everything from the first expression lines that appear around the age of thirty to the deepest wrinkles that don't disappear when the skin is stretched around the age of forty.
Advise your clients of the following precautions that should be taken before carrying out radiofrequency on the face:
• Avoid drinking alcohol at least two days before the session;
• Prepare the skin using facial moisturisers four to six weeks before the session, such as Bio Mossi's HYDRA Facial Cream 50ml size;
• On the day of the treatment, do not wear make-up, lotions or moisturising creams;
• Do not shave or wax any area of the face on the day of the session.
If you have a history of cold sores, tell your doctor, beautician or physiotherapist. It should not be applied to people with diabetes, Cushing's syndrome, coagulation or who have taken isotretinoin to treat acne in the last 2 months. In addition, peeling or laser treatments on the face should be avoided for at least two weeks before the radiofrequency session.
Two or three days after the first treatment session, the effects of radiofrequency on the face can be seen. This is because the electromagnetic waves cause existing collagen fibres to contract and stimulate the formation of new collagen fibres, keeping the face looking younger and wrinkle-free. In addition, there are some cases in which this treatment should not be carried out, such as:
• When there are changes in the sensitivity of the face that make it difficult to distinguish between cold and heat;
• Use of metal prostheses in the facial bones or tooth fillings;
• Fertility;
• Treatment with anticoagulants or corticosteroids;
• Areas of the face with tattoos or permanent make-up;
• Injury or infection to the face;
• Fever.
